How-to guide

Getting started with Hively

Create or join the right account, add a personal feedback link, and start reviewing responses.

For: New users and account administrators

What Hively does

Hively collects short customer feedback about a service interaction, associated with the team member whose rating link the customer uses.

You can place rating links in an email signature or a supported help-desk message, then review responses in Hively. What Hively helps you do explains where this fits alongside surveys and follow-up conversations.

Create an account or accept an invitation

If your organisation already uses Hively, ask its administrator to invite you. Use that invitation to join the existing account rather than creating a separate account for the same team.

To start a new account, open Hively signup, enter your name, email, company or team name, timezone and password, and review the terms and news preference before selecting Register. Follow the confirmation instructions sent to your address.

If you already have an account, sign in. For a missing invitation or activation problem, use Sign-in and activation help. An administrator can invite team members and choose their roles.

Add your personal rating snippet

Open Snippets and choose a style for your email signature, or follow the guide for your supported integration.

Each person needs their own rating links. Copying a colleague’s installed snippet can attribute your feedback to them. See Personal rating links.

Check a received message

Send yourself a sample message through the actual email client or help-desk workflow and inspect the received snippet and destination.

Check that the links identify the intended member and the page displays as expected. Opening a rating link can begin a real feedback flow; do not submit invented feedback into live reporting just to test the installation. See Signature troubleshooting if the snippet or links change during sending.

Review feedback and choose emails

Use Hively to read feedback in context and decide how your team will respond to it.

Start with View ratings, Scores and the leaderboard, and Choose your email notifications. Access depends on your role. Agree who will follow up on customer concerns; Hively receiving a rating does not mean someone has acted on it.
