How-to guide

Close your Hively account

Distinguish immediate account closure from a scheduled downgrade, and prepare before cancelling.

For: Account administrators

Choose the right action

Cancel account closes the whole Hively account and removes access for its users immediately. It does not keep access available until the paid period ends.

If you want to stop a paid plan while keeping the account, review Downgrade to Free instead. A paid-plan downgrade is scheduled for renewal and has Free-plan limits.

Contact support before proceeding if your account uses manual invoicing, SSO, or an agreed billing arrangement, or if you are unsure which action you need.

Prepare before closing

Make sure the account is the one you intend to close and that the people who rely on it know access will end.

Download any rating data, reports and invoices you are authorized to retain before cancelling. Remove Hively snippets, rating requests and public embeds from the places your team maintains so customers are not sent to an account you no longer use.

Account closure is not a promise that every stored record or backup is erased immediately. For a personal-data request, use Privacy and GDPR questions.

Close the account

An account administrator can open Account โ†’ Profile and choose Cancel account to review the confirmation dialog.

The dialog asks for Your password and provides Final thoughts for feedback. Its final Cancel account button submits the closure. Choose Exit without cancelling if you do not want to proceed.

Successful closure removes user access, clears future Hively billing dates and stops scheduled reports. It is separate from settling an existing invoice or receiving a refund. See the terms and contact support about unresolved billing matters.

If something goes wrong

If the password is rejected, the page shows an error, or you closed the wrong account, contact support@teamhively.com.

If Hively reports that no closure changes were saved, the account, user access and report schedules remain as they were before the attempt. If the response is interrupted or the outcome is unclear, ask support to check before creating a replacement account. Include the account name and approximate time, without sending your password. Restoration after a successful closure is something support must investigate, not a guaranteed self-service option.
