Accounts and teams
Your account holds the organisation’s users, subscription and shared settings. Teams group those users within the account, for example by department, brand or region.
An account administrator on a paid subscription can manage teams. A person has one direct team membership, but can lead several teams. A team leader can also be a team member; those assignments are separate.
Create or edit a team
Open Manage teams to add a team or change an existing one.
- Select Add teams, or Edit beside an existing team.
- Enter its Name and, optionally, a Team logo.
- Select the Team Leaders and Team Members.
- Choose a Parent Team if this team reports into another team.
- Review the selection and use Create Team or Update Team to save.
If a leader should also receive feedback as a member of that team, include them in both lists. To let someone lead several teams, select them as a leader on each team. Keep existing members and leaders selected when you want to retain them.
Moving a member: adding someone to a new team removes their direct membership of the previous team. This is not a way to give them two simultaneous team memberships. See membership across teams and accounts.
Nest teams under a parent
Create the parent team first, then select it as Parent Team when creating or editing a child team.
A parent team’s Leaderboard includes users from its sub-teams. Team leaders’ All Ratings view can also include ratings from sub-teams they oversee. The hierarchy does not create another login or a second direct membership for each person.
Check the intended team selection and visibility after reorganising teams. Individual member-page access and team-wide views are separate paths; if a leader cannot open a particular member page, ask the administrator to check their direct team-leader assignment rather than assuming every navigation path inherits the same access.
Branding and viewing a team
On the Leaderboard, use the Team menu to choose the team whose results you want to see.
On a team’s edit page, Customize opens its customer-facing customisation options. The Show on Customer Thanks email checkbox controls whether the team name and logo replace the company name and logo in that email. Review these choices before using a team for a different brand.
For the distinction between leadership and account administration, see roles. For visibility settings, see Team Member Access.
Remove a team
From Manage teams, choose Remove beside the intended team and review the confirmation before proceeding.
Removing the team clears its direct users’ team assignments; it does not remove those users from the account. Reassign them as needed. If the team has sub-teams, review and move those children before removing the parent rather than assuming the whole hierarchy will be reorganised automatically.
To remove a person’s access instead, use removing and reinstating users.
