Before removing a user
Account administrators use Manage users to remove a person from the account. Check the person’s identity and role before proceeding.
Removal affects their ability to sign in and receive new ratings through their personal links. Replace snippets or QR codes still used in customer-facing material and review any integration templates that refer to the person.
Removing a user can affect subscription counts. Ask the account’s billing administrator about the effect under your plan; removing a person is different from cancelling the account.
Remove the intended person
Open Users → Manage users, find the person, and choose Remove beside their row.
Read the confirmation and choose Remove team member only when you intend to remove that user. Hively does not let you remove your own user through this control. If you need to leave an account, arrange the change with another administrator or Hively support.
Removal is not the same as deleting every historical rating. Under Account → Profile, Retain deleted team members controls whether removed members appear on the Leaderboard and their ratings appear on All Ratings. Treat that as a display choice, not a data-erasure operation.
Reinstate a removed user
Removed users appear in Manage users with a Reinstate action. Check the saved email address and intended account membership before restoring access.
If reinstatement fails, contact support@teamhively.com, especially if the email address is now associated with another user. Do not keep creating replacement accounts without checking the existing record.
Removal deletes the user’s integration mappings. Reinstating the user does not automatically rebuild those mappings: review the relevant integration and test attribution before using its template again. You may also need to send setup instructions and replace distributed snippets if you created a different user rather than reinstating the original one.
