Before you start
You need your team members in Hively, account-administrator access in Hively, and access to manage the relevant signature rule in CodeTwo Email Signatures 365, previously named CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365.
This guide is for the Microsoft 365 product. For on-premises Exchange, use Hively with CodeTwo Exchange Rules.
The integration uses one shared snippet with sender placeholders. Map every sender who will receive the signature to the correct Hively user before applying the rule to them.
1. Map your team members in Hively
Open Configuration → Integrations → CodeTwo. Enter each sender’s email address beside the corresponding Hively team member, then select Update.
Use the address that CodeTwo supplies for that sender. It will often match their Hively sign-in address, but check rather than assuming it does—particularly for aliases and shared mailboxes. Reopen CodeTwo in Hively’s integrations list after saving to confirm the entries.
2. Copy the integration HTML
Select Get CodeTwo snippet, then Show HTML, and copy the complete code.
Use the CodeTwo integration snippet rather than a personal snippet. It contains {E-mail} to identify the sender and {Recipient address} for the recipient context. Leave those placeholders in the template; CodeTwo replaces them when processing the message.
3. Add the snippet to a CodeTwo rule
In CodeTwo’s signature management app, choose the rule that should include Hively and open its signature design.
Place the cursor where you want the feedback prompt, use the editor’s HTML snippet command, and insert the copied code. Save the design. Review who the rule applies to before publishing it, initially limiting it to your test senders.
CodeTwo maintains illustrated instructions in its Hively integration guide. Use that guide for the current vendor interface and signature-rule setup.
4. Check the placeholders in each link
If CodeTwo shows an encoded placeholder inside a rating hyperlink, restore the literal placeholder in the template’s hyperlink editor before testing.
| If the template contains | Replace it with |
|---|---|
%7BE-mail%7D |
{E-mail} |
%7BRecipient%20address%7D |
{Recipient address} |
Check every rating face and the text link beneath the faces. In the signature editor, right-click the linked item and choose Edit hyperlink where available. Change only these encoded placeholders; retain the rest of Hively’s generated URL.
This corrects the template before CodeTwo processes it. It is not an instruction to remove normal URL encoding from addresses in a received message.
5. Check a received message before wider rollout
Send a message to an internal test recipient using the signature rule. Repeat with a second mapped sender so you can check that the links identify different people.
Inspect the delivered rating-link addresses without opening them. The sender value should match the correct Hively integration entry; the template placeholders should no longer be literal or blank. Check the images and text link too.
Clicking a rating face can create a real rating and trigger notifications. Coordinate a clearly identified feedback test with your Hively account administrator if you need to check the complete journey.
If a signature is absent, check the CodeTwo rule and sending mode. If feedback reaches the wrong person, compare the sender value in the delivered link with the identifier saved beside that person in Hively. For unresolved placeholders, recheck the template hyperlinks and use CodeTwo’s current guidance for your signature mode.
