How-to guide

Recognize a colleague with Buzz

Send internal recognition without adding points to customer satisfaction scores.

For: All Hively users

What Buzz is

Buzz is recognition sent by one Hively user to another in the same account. Use it to say thank you or acknowledge something a colleague did well. It is separate from customer feedback and does not add customer-rating points or change customer Happiness %.

Buzz has its own counts and can be included deliberately in reports. A report containing both Buzz and customer feedback should label the two clearly; see reports and exports.

Send a Buzz

Sign in to Hively, then open Actions → Send Buzz. Choose the Team Member, write a Message and select Send Buzz. The recipient must be an active user in your account.

Use this form for colleague recognition instead of clicking their customer-rating snippet. The latter is a customer-feedback route and can affect their customer metrics.

Limits and notifications

The old one-Buzz-per-week restriction is no longer enforced. Both administrators and ordinary users can send Buzz; you do not need a paid-plan upgrade simply to send it.

Notification delivery depends on the recipient’s settings and email processing. A successful send does not guarantee an immediate email. You can review Buzz you’ve sent on the same page; see email-delivery help for missing notifications.

Make recognition useful

Describe the specific action and why it helped: “Thanks for staying with the customer until their issue was resolved” is more useful than a score alone. Treat recognition as encouragement, not a reason to ask colleagues or customers for artificial ratings.

For customer-derived points, periods and Top Score, see scores and the Leaderboard. Hively records recognition and feedback; any material employee reward is a decision for your organization.
