Choose standard or custom fields
Account administrators on paid plans can manage fields under Configuration โ Fields. Standard Fields provides comment, name and email. A custom field set lets you change labels, add questions or remove fields.
Ask only for details you need. Requiring a field means a customer must complete it before submitting that type of feedback; it can add friction to an otherwise quick rating.
Make standard fields required
Select Edit beside Standard Fields. Choose whether Name, Email and Comment are required for Happy, Satisfied and Unhappy ratings, then select Submit. These controls change required status rather than the field labels or layout.
WOW has separate requirements on the standard form. Check WOW ratings and anonymous ratings before describing your form as anonymous or one-click.
Create and use a field set
Select Add Field set, enter a name, choose its language and submit. Hively creates an editable copy of the standard fields. Use the field list to add, edit or remove questions, then save.
Select Set as default beside the set you want to use for the account. Review the rating page for the intended member and language. A rating request may select its own field set, so changing the account default does not establish what every existing request uses; see rating-request templates.
Edit a field
Select Edit beside the field. Set its label, explanatory text, type and the rating types for which it is required. The available types are a single-line text field, a longer text box and a dropdown list.
For a dropdown, separate choices with a pipe: Sales | Support | Billing. Labels and explanatory text can use [account name], [team name] and [team member name].
Fields copied from the standard name, email or comment field retain that role elsewhere in Hively, including notifications. Keep their meaning consistent: do not relabel the email field as an unrelated question.
Preview before distributing links
Check every rating type you use, including WOW where available, and try submitting with required fields empty. Check the correct language and a narrow screen. Use clearly labelled test feedback and remove it if appropriate using the rating-removal guidance.
Removing a field from a form is not a request to erase historical responses, emails or exports. Contact support if your goal concerns previously collected information.
