Here’s how it’s done:

1. First, you’ll need to get the HTML version of your personal email signature snippet from Hively. Log in to your account and go to “Snippets” from the main menu under the heading Configuration. Choose which snippet style you would like and click “Get Snippet”. A pop-up box will appear with your snippet in it. Click the blue “Show HTML” button and you’ll now be able to see your snippet in HTML. Copy the HTML version of your snippet.

2. Now, you need to make sure that Thunderbird is set to enable the sending of HTML in email messages. Within Mozilla Thunderbird, go to your “Account Settings” then “Composition & Addressing” and make sure that the box for “Compose messages in HTML format” is checked.

3. Now to insert your snippet into the email signature go to “Account Settings” then in the left panel select the account for which you want to create the signature. In the “Signature text” panel make sure the “Use HTML” box is checked. Then just paste your snippet into the panel and click “OK”.

4. Success! Next time you send an email you are ready to receive customer feedback!

The style you choose will be reflected on your rating page, thanks page, the thanks email sent to raters and everywhere else smileys show up throughout Hively. The smiley style will also be reflected in the snippets sent to your team members, but if you change the style, you’ll need to resend team members their snippets to make sure they have the latest.

Changing Smiley Sets

To switch to a different style of smileys:

• Log into Hively as an Account Administrator.
• Select Smileys from the main menu under the heading Configuration.
• In the ‘All smiley sets’ list, click the ‘Set as default’ link next to the smiley set you want to switch to.

Uploading a custom smiley set

To upload and use your own Smiley Set:

• Log into Hively as an Account Administrator.
• Select Smileys from the main menu under the heading Configuration.
• Click the ‘Add Smiley Set’ button.
• Enter a name for your set (this doesn’t display publicly) and upload your smileys.
• Click ‘Submit’.

The images you upload should be PNGs of equal height and width and at least 150 pixels in each dimension.

1) Be sure you’ve highlighted, copied and pasted the entire snippet into this space and that the HTML is still not activating. If you work for a company with an IT or other technical team you might want to ask them if they know for sure if this area accepts HTML.

2) Your users can request customer feedback through the ‘Rating Request‘ feature in Hively. From the ‘My Ratings’ page each user has a button at the top that says ‘Request Rating.’ Clicking this allows users to request feedback from one or multiple recipients at the same time. Users can create a custom message with their picture and send it to customers in a full body email, asking for feedback from the customer. This is a great option for requesting feedback after meetings, phone calls, presentations, trainings, etc.

3) You can paste the ‘Single Link’ snippet into your desired location. Since it won’t be clickable (because the HTML won’t be accepted) you’ll need to do the following:

• In Hively select Snippets from the main menu under Configuration
• Click the ‘Get Snippet’ button on the ‘Single Link’ snippet. Click the the ‘Show HTML’ toggle. Copy the URL for your customer rating page out of this snippet. In your CRM, paste this URL with some leading text like “Copy and paste this URL into your browser to give me feedback.” This way, at least people have the option of going to this URL if they choose.

1. Have them check their spam folder to see if the email was placed there.
2. Be sure to white label and/or add the Hively domain to your contacts @teamhively.com.
3. You can resend the Hively email containing the user’s rating snippet and instructions to them again. To do this, find the user on the Hively Leaderboard. Click the ‘Actions’ dropdown and then the ‘Get Rating Snippet’ link. In the window that appears you’ll see a button that says ‘Send email and instructions’. Clicking this button will resend the snippet/instructions email to the user.

Each user in Hively has access to the Rating Snippet Gallery. Here they will find multiple snippet options. As the team leader, you can set the default snippet for your team – but each user can still use different snippets for different situations.

Here are some examples:

Use the Classic, Single Link or Sleek snippets in your HTML email signature. Now, every time you email a customer you can show them you’re interested in receiving their feedback.

Use the El Grande or Multi Links in your ticket tracking system or web forum. This way, when you send a ticket or answer a question in a forum, you’re customers can rate the response.

Use the Full HTML snippet to paste into your email marketing campaigns or issue resolution email. If you solve an issue for a customer have your CRM or ticket tracking system send out an email asking if their issue was solve to their satisfaction. Or, periodically check in with your customers by sending out an email asking for feedback.

The QR code snippet option lets you download a QR Code that can be printed onto name badges, placards, timesheets, business cards, posters, signs – anywhere you can think of. Now, your customers can give you feedback directly through their smart phones.

Try using all or combinations of these different methods so you’re sure to gather customer feedback at every touch point.

To access this snippet go to the snippet gallery by selecting Snippet from the main menu under Configuration.

Click the ‘Get Snippet’ button on the Full HTML Email snippet. A pop up will appear with the full snippet. You can copy the snippet in one of two ways:

Option 1:

• With you mouse, place your cursor just under the top dotted line.
• Click and move your mouse down highlighting the entire snippet.
• Stop just before the bottom dotted line and be sure the entire snippet is selected.
• Paste the snippet in your desired location.

Option 2:

• Click the ‘Yes’ toggle at the bottom of the pop up where it asks if you want to ‘Show HTML’
• You will now view the HTML of this snippet.
• Now you can simply click into the box, highlight all (Ctrl A on a PC | Command A on a Mac) or
• With you mouse, place your cursor at the top of the box.
• Click and move your mouse down highlighting the entire snippet.
• Stop at the bottom of the box and be sure the entire snippet is selected.
• Paste the snippet in your desired location.

Once you have the snippet pasted you can edit the default text in the email to send your own custom message.

Note:

This is the exact same email that will be sent to customers when you use the ‘Request a Rating‘ feature.

Also, if you’re in the HTML mode you can make modifications there as well. We highly advise you only do this if you’re comfortable working with HTML and CSS.
