1) You can simply copy a basic URL link into your signature. From inside of Hively, go to your ‘My Ratings’ page. Click the ‘Actions’ drop down in the top right hand corner of your profile. Once opened, click the ‘Get Email Snippet’ link. You will see your rating snippet. Click on the link that says “Click on a face to provide anonymous feedback on my performance!” This will take you to the customer rating page for your ratings. Copy the URL in your tool bar. This is the link you will want to use in your email signature. You can either paste the link in ‘as is’ or create your own text and hyperlink it to this URL. You can also create your full signature and add any kind of heading question you like such as “How did I do?” You now have a full signature!

2) Copy this image (right click and save image as): 

Try uploading this image into your Outlook 2000 email signature. If it works, insert this image and hyperlink it to your customer rating page URL in the exact way described above. Again, with this option, you can also create a heading text and URL link in the same manner described in option 1. Please note that the 1 click rating will not work in this case – it will simply take the customer to your rating page where they will need to complete the rating form to provide you feedback.

3) Inside of Outlook 2000, create a new email and save it. Paste your Hively Rating snippet into this email. Save this email as a template. Now, when you want to create an email to a customer, simply do so from this email template.

4) Upgrade your software! Technology changes very quickly these days. Many people upgrade their entire computing environments every 2-3 years to stay current. While we know this isn’t practical for a lot of people, using software that is more than 10 years old is probably causing you several issues that could be fixed with an upgrade.

Here are some options to work around this:

1) You can simply copy the ‘plain text’ or ‘single link’ snippets into your signature. You can find these by selecting Snippets from the main menu under Configuration. Click the ‘Get Snippet’ button for either of these snippets, copy it and paste it into your signature. This is the link you will want to use in your GoDaddy Work Spaces signature. You can either paste the link in ‘as is’ or create your own text and hyperlink it to this URL. You can also create your full signature and add any kind of heading question you like such as “How did I do?” You now have a full signature!

2) Copy this image (right click and save image as): 

You can upload this image into Go Daddy Work spaces email signature. They allow for a single image upload only. Insert this image and hyperlink it to your customer rating page URL in the exact way described above. Again, with this option, you can also create a heading text and URL link in the same manner described in option 1. Please note that the 1 click rating will not work in this case – it will simply take the customer to your rating page where they will need to complete the rating form to provide you feedback.

3) Inside of GoDaddy Work Spaces, create a new email. Paste your Hively Rating snippet into this email. Save this email as a template. In your ‘Templates’ directory inside of GoDaddy Work Spaces you will have this email with the full signature saved. Now, when you want to create an email, simply do so from this template.

4) Just use the ‘Request Rating’ feature inside of Hively. You can request ratings from clients after phone calls, demos, trainings or whenever you want directly through Hively. This will send your designated clients a full HTML email with the same Hively options to give you feedback. No signature required!

5) Choose a different email client. We know this isn’t a practical solution for many of you but it is a potential solution. There are many great email clients available from Outlook to Apple Mail. We highly recommend using GMail. It’s amazing!

First, copy and paste your rating snippet. Be sure to copy the entire snippet. To do this, place your cursor with your mouse just below the top line of the snippet instructions. Start selecting and move your mouse down, highlighting your snippet, and stoping just above the end line. Be sure the entire snippet (including the images) is highlighted.

Now, copy your selection (Command + C on a Mac and Control + C on a PC). Then, paste the snippet into your email signature area of your email, email client, CRM or ticket tracking system.

If you’re having trouble, try copying the snippet first from the email set up instructions you received. Prior to copying the snippet, be sure you have clicked the ‘Display Images’ link in your email and that the smiley faces are appearing in your email.

If that does not work, you can copy your rating snippet from your account in Hively. To access this, select ‘Get Email Snippet’ from the ‘Actions’ menu next to your name on the Leaderboard. Click this link and your rating snippet will be revealed. Select, copy and paste your snippet exactly as described above.

1. Open Mail and select Mail from the toolbar, then select Preferences.

2. Select Signatures from the preferences window.

3. Select an email account in the left hand column, then choose the + button underneath the middle column.

4. Select and Copy your Hively email signature snippet from the ‘Get Email Snippet’ in the ‘Actions’ dropdown of your summary display area, or from a setup email sent from your Account Administrator….

…then paste the snippet into the third column in the Apple Mail signature setup window.

NOTE: Sometimes the Hively face images won’t appear in the Apple Mail signature setup window (see below) — don’t worry they’ll show up in your email.

5. Now close the preferences window and start writing your email by clicking the New Message button.

6. Select your new signature in the dropdown.

7. Presto! Now your Hively snippet is in your signature.

NOTE: For Mac users on the Tiger or Leopard operating systems, things get a little more tricky. Links are removed in signatures if you add them through the Preferences pane, like in the method described above.

A workaround is described here.

To get an HTML version of your snippet:

1. Log into Hively
2. Select Snippets from the main menu in the top right-hand corner
3. Click Get snippet next to the snippet you’d like to add
4. In the popup window click the Show HTML button to see an HTML version of the snippet
5. Then, follow this tutorial

1. Highlight and copy your personal email signature snippet from Hively.

2. Within Outlook, go to your preferences and select ‘File -> Options‘

3. Select Mail -> Signatures

4.  Click the ‘New‘ button to create a new signature and type a name for it.

5. Paste your snippet into the Signature box and click ‘Save‘

6. Success! Next time you send an email you are ready to receive customer feedback!

1. Go to the Options dropdown in the upper left corner of the screen and select More Options.

2. Select Signature, then toggle the screen to Show a signature on all outgoing messages. Make sure you have Rich Text selected as well.

3. Copy your Hively snippet from the ‘Get Email Snippet’ link in the ‘More’ dropdown in your summary display area…

…and paste your Hively Snippet into the rich text area in Yahoo.

4. Click Save Changes.

…you’ll get a success message.

5. Click Back to Mail to start writing emails.

6. Presto! Your Hively signature snippet is now in your email.

Option 1

Select Manage Users from the main menu under the User heading. Here you can add users. When you add a user their email signature snippet will be sent to them, along with instructions on how to implement it into their email signature.

Option 2

In your user summary data display (found either on the Leaderboard or the user’s My Ratings page), you will see an ‘Actions’ dropdown. Click this and you will find a link titled “Get Email Snippet.” Click this and a pop up will appear displaying the users signature snippet. Simply click the button at the bottom of the pop up that reads “Email instructions to this user.” They will then receive an email with instructions for inserting their snippet into their email.

Once they receive their notification, users simply need to set their password and they can access Hively. If you don’t want users to be notified right away, simply uncheck the ‘Send set up instructions’ checkbox. You can always send the instructions again at a later time.

In your user summary data display (found either on the Leaderboard or the user’s My Ratings page), you will see an ‘Actions’ dropdown. Click this and you will find a link titled “Get Email Snippet.” Click this and a pop up will appear displaying the users signature snippet. Simply click the button at the bottom of the pop up that reads “Email instructions to this user.” They will then receive an email with instructions for inserting their snippet into their email. In addition, you can simply cope and paste this signature from the pop up.

A few tips on doing this:

1. If you don’t know HTML we’d recommend finding someone who does to help you with any edits you’d like to make.
2. We’ve found it’s best to provide some kind of instruction or explanation to your customers in the text as to what this is all about.
3. We’ve also found that if your customers know the rating is anonymous they are more likely to leave feedback. Making that clear is a good idea.
