Yes, teams can be nested within teams in Hively as deeply as you need. Parent teams are created exactly as you would create a regular team and can have users assigned to them if that’s needed. Sub-teams can also have Team Leaders assigned and this is one of the main benefits. To place a team within a team, create the parent team (e.g. North America), then create or edit the child team (e.g. North America – Helpdesk). At that point you’ll be able to select the parent team that the sub-team belongs to.

Once that’s done, whenever the parent team is selected within Hively or is otherwise relevant (e.g. sending notifications to a Team Leader for that team), the results will be for that team. This affects the following areas:

On the Leaderboard, if you select a team with sub-teams, you’ll see totals, users etc for the team including its sub-teams.

Where a Team Leader of a team with sub-teams selects the All Ratings tab.

Notifications sent to a Team Leader of a team with sub-teams.

When reporting on teams with sub-teams.

Paid Hively accounts can set the level of access that Team Members have to their Hively ratings. There are three levels of access to choose from:

Team Members can see details of their own ratings and the Leaderboard. This is the default and is the level of access for all free accounts.

Team Members can see details of their own ratings but can’t see the Leaderboard

Team Members can’t see any rating information. Notifications are automatically turned off for Team Members when this level of access is selected.

How do I set the level of access?

Under the Account heading on the main menu, select the Profile page. From there, you’ll see the options listed above under the heading Team Member Access. Just select the level you require and click Update.

What about Admins and Team Leaders?

This setting doesn’t affect the level of access of Team Leaders and Administrators. Team Leaders can see the Leaderboard, their own ratings and their team’s ratings. Administrators can see the Leaderboard and all ratings.

Paid Hively accounts have the option to change the language used on your rating page, or even to set up different rating pages for different languages on the one account. You can specify a language as:

The default language for your whole account.

The default language for a user.

An additional language for a user.

When a language is specified, that language is used in all parts of Hively that are shown to your customers. That is, on the rating page, the ‘thanks’ page that displays after a rating is left, the ‘thanks’ email and in the snippets that have been sent for that language.

Changing your account’s language

To change your account’s language:

Log into Hively as an Account Administrator of your paid account.

Select Profile from the main menu under the Account heading.

Choose your language and click Update

Changing a user’s language

A user’s default language can be selected when inviting them to join your account. If you would like to change the language at a later time:

Log into Hively as an Account Administrator of your paid account.

Select Manage Users from the main menu under the heading Users.

Click on the Edit link next to the relevant user.

Choose your language and click Update

This is all you need to do to have the rating page and related pages show in the user’s new default language. However for the wording in the user’s snippet to reflect this change, the user can edit the wording directly, or you can resend the snippet to them from the ‘More’ menu next to the user’s name on the Leaderboard.

Adding additional languages for a user

Users who communicate in more than one language can get extra snippets for those languages. Multi-lingual users often switch between email signatures as needed. So, to work with more than one language, the default Hively snippet should be added to their main signature and the alternative snippet should be added to their alternative signature. Just email us at info@teamhively.com with details of your multi-lingual users and we’ll send you back the alternative snippets that they will need to use in their alternative signatures.

Hively accounts can be split up into multiple teams. This can be useful:

Where you have a larger account and would like to track metrics are tracked by team.

Where you want Team Leaders to have visibility of their Team Member’s ratings, but not of Team Members of other teams.

Where you have multiple brands within your account that require their own branding.

Where you provide support in more than one language and you want to the messaging on your rating page to be in a customer’s language.

If that’s you, teams can be set up as follows. When logged in as the Account Administrator of a premium account, select Manage Teams from the main menu and click the Add Team button. From there you can fill in the team’s details and assign your Team Leaders and Team Members. Click Create Team to save your changes.

The Team Leader can also be a member of the same team. If that’s what you would like, be sure to add them to both the Team Leader and Team Member lists.

Teams can also be placed within other teams. If you do this, then the sub-team’s members and ratings will be rolled up into the parent team throughout Hively such as when viewing the parent team on the Leaderboard or sending notifications to Team Leaders of the parent team. You can nest teams within teams as deeply as you like (it’s Team-ception!).

Customizing a team

Customize the look, feel and messaging of the rating and Thanks pages for a specific team as follows. From the Manage Teams page, click the Edit link next to the team you would like to customize. From there, click the Customize button at the top of the page.

Adding additional teams

To add more teams, click the Add Team button at the top of the Manage Teams page.

Editing a team

From the Manage Teams page, click the Edit link next to the name of the team you’d like to edit. Make the necessary changes to the team’s details and click the Update Team button to save your changes.

Removing a team

From the Manage Teams page, click the Remove link next to the name of the team you’d like to edit and confirm when prompted.

Viewing a team’s Leaderboard

By default, the leaderboard will show summary metrics for all users on an account. If you have teams set up on your account, you will see a Team menu to the right of the account name on the Leaderboard. From here, you can select the name of a team and metrics for only that team will be displayed.

Viewing a Team Member’s ratings

Team Leaders can view their Team Member’s ratings on the All Ratings page but can’t reassign or delete ratings. Account Administrators can view ratings for all team members on the account and can reassign or delete ratings.

As an Account Administrator, select Customisation from the main menu under Configuration. Here you can style the customer rating page to better promote your brand.

The first thing you can change is the Team Member Question. This is the question your customer will see when giving you feedback. It will be the question displayed for each of your users. You can also update the message displayed from your user. Be sure to leave in the short code: [team member name]. This will insert the users name into the message.

Next, you can upload a background image for the customer rating page. Uploaded images should be larger than 180px and less than 2400 x 1200px. Acceptable file types are .png, .gif, and .jpg. This image will fill the background of the customer rating page. This page has a functional area in the center of the page that is approximately 500 x 690 px. Your background page design should account for this.

Finally, you can change the color of the header area, page text, page background and button to better reflect your brand. To do this, simply click into the input box next to the option you’re changing. From here, you can type in the hexidecimal number of the color you’re looking for or use the color selector function to find the right color.

Click the ‘Update’ and viola! A newly branded customer rating page.

Yes! By default, you are an account administrator and a user in the same account.

Why?

The best reason is because we know you want to join in on all the fun! However, if that’s not the case, as an account administrator, you can also remove yourself as a team member and just be an account administrator.

How do you do this?
